AdWords Checkmate Review (Sleep Inducing Audio)
In terms of marketing with AdWords, the foremost expert that everyone knows & most people trust is none other than Perry Marshall. One thing I like about him is that he does not promote the latest trick of the day, the latest strategy or something like that.
I got an email from him & used the word, “new strategy” which really surprised me because I think he only mentioned “new strategy” for the second time in the past few years. This made me pay attention to what he was saying.
He recommended AdWords Checkmate which was written by Howie Jacobson & contained some material (pdf & mp3) by Glen Livingston. Both these guys have worked with Perry Marshall & seem to be really credible, no hype too.
So I finally bought it! I have not bought a single ebook or software in many months…..
I would summarize it as analyzing the ads you see & looking at them at a few different angles such as:
- offer
- benefits
- features
- tone
- call to action
- reason to believe
- hook
This is how you actually analyze what your competitors are doing & what you can learn from them. If you take the best of them all, mix & match, you will end up with better click-thru-rates than most of them.
I prefer audio over reading, so as I was driving, I listened to the part about buyers’ behavior by Glen Livingston….. & it almost put me to sleep. It is dangerous to fall asleep when driving.
I guess it is the tone of his voice that caused me to feel sleepy. (Reminds me of Jay Abraham’s world renown sleep-inducing-voice.)
As I was about to turn off the audio, I caught something really interesting about buyers’ behavior so I decided to listen to it again, this time I will listen & take notes, previously I did not take notes.
My conclusion, there is nothing new in this product, just a newer way of looking at ads, competitors, marketing, etc. If you have been using AdWords for awhile & would like to improve your results, then you should check out AdWords Checkmate.
If you are brand new to AdWords, please give it a miss. Instead, you might want to look at Perry Marshall’s stuff.
