ClickBank Affiliates - Do You Make These Mistakes?
- 1st - You didn’t offer an additional bonus. (Something unique & relevant.)
- 2nd - You offer crappy bonuses. (Eg. resell rights & private label junk, which you bought on eBay at $0.99.)
- 3rd - You make a sale & then you stop there. (You didn’t care about contacting your buyer to make some backend offers.)
I’m not sure if you have been paying close attention to what’s happening in the world of affiliate marketing but it doesn’t sound too good.
Competition is cut throat! Affiliates outbidding affiliates on pay per click (AdWords, Yahoo Search Marketing, MSN AdCenter), making it virtually impossible for newer affiliates to even have one profitable campaign! (I’m glad that I’m not a newbie.)
The top affiliates making the big bucks are always doing simple things that work! Some ideas I heard from some top affiliates, are so simple, you’ll find it hard to believe.
Wait a minute! Most of the time only product owners get to do make backend offers, how is that possible for affiliates to make backend offers just like product owners?
Simple! Whenever you sell a particular product through your affiliate link for a specific vendor, login to your account, grab your customers’ name & email then send an email to the buyer. In the email, you can do a few things, such as:
- write a thank you note (too basic, not good enough)
- send your buyer to your blog or site (not a bad idea)
- recommend another related product (using your affiliate link)
- send them a bonus for buying through your link (I do this all the time!)
- send them a link to your squeeze page (You can build a list of buyers, not just subscribers who haven’t bought anything!)
Don’t expect a windfall overnight, things doesn’t happen that way! These extra profits will increase steadily over time…..
Here’s How I Do It
When someone buys through my affiliate link, I usually offer an additional bonus.
In my email, I thank the buyer for buying through my link. Then I give the link for him to register in order to get the bonus.
This means that, in order for the buyer to get the bonus which I promised, he have to give me his name & email. This is exactly how I build a list of buyers, not just subscribers who haven’t bought anything.
After I get their names & emails into my autoresponder system, I continue to send them a series of emails. (I prepare at least 2 months worth of email messages.)
These email messages are a mixture of good content & relevant offers.
Sounds like hard work? No worries, just set aside an hour a week to do that. (Depending on your number of sales.) This can also work for other affiliate programs, not just clickbank.
